Decoration Ideas
- Get some faux fur that resembles dog fur, and use it for a table cover.
- Cut large bones from poster board and attach to the walls. You can also make smaller bones and put each guest's name on one.
- Doghouse. Either make one from poster board and attach to a wall, or get a cardboard 3-D dog house for decoration and playing. There's a nice cardboard dog house
at ShindigZ.com.
Invitation Ideas
- Put your own favorite pooch's picture on your invitations! See our page of dog invitation ideas.
- Make dog invitations in the shape of a dog bone.
Food Ideas
- Dog bone shaped cookies.
- Treats served in doggie bowls (new, clean ones!)
- Dog shaped cake.
Activity Ideas
- For a dog-gone good time, have the party at a park where dogs are allowed, and let everyone bring their doggie! Have a doggie show, and let each dog win an award. (Biggest, smallest, most friendly, best behaved, softest fur, prettiest, handsomest, loudest bark, longest ears, droolingest, etc.)
- If this is an outdoor party, Fetch is a good game to play. Divide into two teams, each of which forms a line. First person in each line runs for an object (stick, toy bone, frisbee, etc.) which has been placed at a marked location. Whichever team's runner gets to the object first scores a point for the team. After all players have had a turn, the team with the most points wins, and gets a prize, or three cheers. If you have an uneven number of players, the birthday child gets to go twice, or can select someone else to go a second time. Be sure to give everyone a treat for playing!
- Another good outdoor activity is frisbee, with or without dogs to join in the fun.
