Name Plaque Activity

Name plaque activityStart with plain blank plaques, whatever size you like. Before the party, drill a couple holes in each for the ribbon, and paint the plaques a semi-gloss white to match the background of the stickers.

On a protected work surface, spread out the materials the guests will use: a plaque for each, a yard of ribbon for each, some stickers, some pencils for sketching in the name, and pens for writing the names permanently. Glitter pens can also be used to make decorative lines, stars, etc.

When a plaque is decorated to the guest's satisfaction, thread the ends of the ribbon through the holes from behind, gather the ends at the top and tie a bow.

Tips:

  • A couple of sample plaques already made will give the guests the general idea.
  • The plaques shown above use the Disney Fairies Peel & Stick Wall Stickers Stick Ups, which are rather large (suitible for name plaques that are about 12x16".) Choose stickers that are a good size relative to the plaques you will provide.
  • Acrylic flat-backed jewels are another nice touch.
  • Ribbon or other decorations such as the acrylic jewels mentioned above could be glued around the sides, if you want an activity that will take more time to complete.
